Las Vegas, NV - Kids can visit the Springs Preserve for free this August! Nevada resident children 17 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult during the month of August. The Springs Preserve is a prime family-friendly destination year round and the Vegas summer is the perfect time to gather your brood and explore the great indoors at the Springs Preserve. Step inside the Origen Experience where sensory excitement takes you beyond the screen with "Miracle in the Mojave." Get up close and personal with live desert animals. Find yourself high and dry as you witness a flash flood or travel back in time and explore what the first settlers in Las Vegas experienced. From identifying fossils to sustainability-based video games, kids and adults will find countless hours of interactive fun. When you're ready to unwind take a short trek to the Nature Exchange where kids can learn about nature collecting, and trade found items. Be sure to visit the Sustainability Gallery and find out how water connects us all, learn about recycling in the one-of-a-kind Garbage Truck Theater, get behind the wheel and drive down a virtual road exploring fuels of the future, or ride the virtual power lines and see where Las Vegas' electricity is generated and the path it travels to get into a valley home. About the Springs Preserve
Located three miles from the famed Las Vegas Strip, the Springs Preserve is a 180-acre national historic site featuring botanical gardens, trails, historical structures, restored wetlands, wildlife exhibits, a child's play area and a 1,800-seat amphitheater. Indoor experiences include two exhibition Galleries dedicated to showcasing art of local and national significance, on-site technologically advanced learning center and interactive museum exhibits, and the Springs Cafe by Wolfgang Puck.
