At the Desert Living Center Design Lab, architects, developers, designers, engineers and do-it-yourselfers can get a leg up on sustainable home design from the inside out. Itself a truly green building – replete with rammed-earth walls, passive cooling towers and solar-generated power – the Design Lab provides samples, tools and resources for planning and designing a fully-sustainable home.
In addition to a library of reference materials, you'll find samples of eco-friendly flooring, insulation and countertops, a wet lab, and even a heliodon to assess optimal solar exposure of a home or building before it's even built.
Whether you're conducting academic research or developing an irrigation system for a backyard, you'll find just the information needed to complete your project.
