Ancestral Puebloan pithouse.The pithouse represents an Ancestral Puebloan dwelling that has been documented and partially excavated at the Preserve. It is likely that other pithouses were constructed in this area, and one of our research goals is to use ground penetrating radar or some other form of remote sensing to locate the remains of these other structures.
Date: Circa 700
Artifacts: Chipped and ground stone, ceramics, shells and charcoal.
