Trail RamadaA ramada along the trails provides a shaded
viewing spot.

The Las Vegas Springs once fed a lush cienega (or wetlands) that supported beautiful, grassy meadows. Get a glimpse of what 19th century explorers might have found when they rounded the mountains of the Mojave Desert and discovered Las Vegas, "the meadows" in Spanish.

Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of wildlife. Enjoy the revived wetlands and take advantage of bird viewing opportunities, including a bird viewing blind and spotting scopes.

The cienega was recreated to restore a functioning habitat for wildlife and covers 2.5 acres.

The cienega draws more than 35 new species of wildlife to the Springs Preserve including rarely observed birds such as the peregrine falcon, belted kingfisher and white-faced ibis. Restored vegetation includes thriving Mojave species such as cottonwood, willow, mesquite and acacia trees.
