Consumers expect greater environmental responsibility from the business and industry sector. The Springs Preserve is a living exhibit for sustainability practices that minimize the impact on the environment. Efforts to meet this challenge include producing environmentally aware meetings and events. We'll show you how being green isn't only the right thing to do, it's the smart thing to do.
Printed Materials
- Offer electronic advertising, promotion and registration whenever possible.
- Provide attendees with electronic versions of the presentations to eliminate paper use.
- If paper use is a must, avoid glossy paper, fluorescent and goldenrod colored paper. Print with vegetable-based ink.
- Use two sided copying and printing of documents.
- Avoid duplication. Distribute info packets to delegates at check-in, not prior.
Catering
- Request organic meals in your catering selections that include local, seasonal produce.
- Present your delegates with reusable coffee mugs at the start of the conference and ask that they use them.
- Use reusable table service ware rather than disposable.
- Provide condiment serving containers and not individual packets.
- Offer fair-trade, shade-grown organic coffee.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
- Use collection containers for paper materials and beverage containers in the meeting room and event area.
- Properly label containers and educate attendees on what can be recycled where.
- Have exhibitors to minimize trash by reusing boxes and packing materials.
