Kids can take a journey through the Old West in this playground with a desert canyon theme. Oversized replicas of a peregrine falcon, a wooly mammoth skeleton and a sidewinder snake are just a few of the sights to see. Imagine a trip through the old West on our train or play in our large sandbox.
Recommended for children 5 years old and under, Toddler Time features new themed activities and stories every week. Bring your little ones every Thursday at 11 a.m. for crafts and fun.
Every Saturday and Sunday, the Springs Preserve offers a variety of activities, demonstrations and tours for parents to drop by with curious kids. From doing crafts and learning about insects to watching zoologists as they feed animals in our Living Collections, there are a plethora of programs designed to engage young minds in creative, fun ways. Check the calendar for a full schedule of activities.
When temperatures reach well over 100 degrees in Southern Nevada, it's difficult to imagine how animals are able to live here. But the desert is teeming with all sorts of wildlife. The Live Exhibits at the Springs Preserve give you a firsthand view of how animals like the desert cottontail rabbit, desert tortoise, kangaroo rat, pocket gopher and the gray fox have adapted to the harsh climate of the desert.
