Volunteer your time with a local service organization between now and Aug. 1, and receive free admission to the Springs Preserve as part of the National Day of Service and Remembrance Celebration.
In conjunction with the Volunteer Center of Southern Nevada, the Springs Preserve will reward Southern Nevada residents who participate in VolunteerVEGAS with an appreciation celebration. To find and register for qualifying volunteer opportunities, visit the Volunteer Center website.
After completing and verifying their service, volunteers will receive a voucher to redeem for free admission to the Springs Preserve on Sept. 11, the National Day of Service and Remembrance. The ticket will entitle the bearer to admission to all Springs Preserve exhibits, attractions and activities.
Volunteers who are unable to use their tickets can donate them to another charitable organization. Volunteers are limited to one voucher and ticket per person, and tickets are valid only for Sept. 11.
The VolunteerVEGAS program honors the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, signed into law by President Obama in April 2009. The act established Sept. 11 as a National Day of Service and Remembrance.
