K-2nd grade 3rd-5th grade Middle & High SchoolCalling all K-12 educators in Southern Nevada! During this training, you will gain a deeper understanding of the impacts of current weather and climate trends on our regional water supply; the water challenges facing the west; and the design solutions needed for sustainability.
Sessions will explore:
- regional phenomena and interdisciplinary concepts related to sustainable design solutions
- grade appropriate lessons and hands-on activities that engage and inspire students
Information, materials and activities utilize the Project WET education platform and are designed to support grade-level curriculum and meet Nevada Academic Content Standards for Science.
Attendees will receive:
- 7.5 professional development hours through ELMS
- Access to experts
- Lunch
- Activity guides
- Materials for in-class activities
- Hands-on training
- Two tickets to the Springs Preserve
IMPORTANT NOTES: This training is for licensed Nevada teachers only. This all-day training will include some outdoor activities and walking between event spaces. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing. For CCSD educators, the professional development hours earned through this training will automatically be processed through ELMS. If you are an educator at a private or charter school, the Springs Preserve will issue a certificate of completion after the training.
