Event Information

  • Date & Time: March 15-23, 2025, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Individual activity times vary; check onsite for details.
  • Location: Springs Preserve
  • Admission: Free for members or included with paid general admission. While space and supplies last.
  • RSVP: No reservations required. Seats fill quickly. Arrive early to ensure your spot!

The Springs Preserve is extending its days of operation and its family-focused programming during the 2025 Clark County School District (CCSD) Spring Break. Normally closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the Springs Preserve will be open and offering kid-friendly activities the entire week of March 15-23.

Experience an adventure at the Springs Preserve during our Spring Break Safari Week! Visit one of our classes or tours and learn all about our Mojave Desert surroundings and what you can identify in your own backyard. We will also welcome spring in our Botanical Garden with fun programs and activities. Let's explore the Springs Preserve together! Events include:

  • Behind-the-Scenes Zoology Clinic Tour (Daily at 10 a.m. in the Origen Museum)
    From the vinegarroons to Gila monsters, learn more about Mojave Desert animals and how Springs Preserve Zoologists take care of our animal collection.
  • Springs Safari: Desert Dwellers (Daily at 11 a.m. in the Sustainability Gallery)
    Take a safari and explore the fascinating wildlife at the Springs Preserve and learn about the unique desert creatures that thrive in the spring!
  • Storytime (Daily at 12 p.m. in the Sustainability Gallery)
    Children of all ages are welcome to stop by the Sustainability Gallery for a brief story time about the unique and fascinating animals of the Mojave Desert.
  • Conservation for Kids: Rainbows (Daily at 1 p.m. in the Sustainability Gallery)
    Come learn about the exciting science behind nature's magical color pallet in the sky — rainbows! Learn how protecting water will keep beautiful rainbows shining bright for generations to come.
  • Badge Class: Oceanography (Daily at 2 p.m. in the Sustainability Gallery)
    Dive into the wonders of the ocean and explore its mysterious depths, animals, currents, and the importance of protecting our seas for a healthier planet. Take a plunge and earn an Oceanography badge!

The Springs Preserve also offers a variety of family-friendly attractions and activities, including hands-on demonstrations, garden explorations, train rides to Boomtown 1905, Toddler Time, and much more.
